Privacy Notice

What we collect and why

• Account data (name, email, login credentials or Google sign-in identifier) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Voice recordings and story content (audio, transcripts, generated chapters, introductions, narration) — to provide the core service. These can include personal and family details you choose to share, so we treat them as confidential. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting customers.
• Usage and device data (pages viewed, feature usage, IP address, browser and device identifiers, error logs) — to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Marketing preferences — if you opt in to updates. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.

Payment card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us; we only receive confirmation of a purchase and limited billing metadata.

Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting and database providers, and AI providers used for speech-to-text, story writing and text-to-speech. Recordings and transcripts are sent to these providers only to produce your story.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities, where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data or your recordings.

Sharing your story

A share link makes the story it points to readable by anyone who has the link. You control whether sharing is on and can revoke a link at any time.

International transfers

Some of our providers are located outside the UK and EEA. Where data is transferred, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses together with appropriate technical safeguards.

Retention

We keep your account, recordings and stories for as long as your account is active, because the service exists to preserve them. If you delete content or close your account, we remove it from live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days. Transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. Email enquiries@lifestorieshub.life and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to your data protection supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, private audio storage restricted to your own account, and row-level access controls in our database so that only you (and people you share with) can reach your stories.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to secure the checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. Optional analytics cookies are only set if you accept them on our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
